Help Center
How can we help?
Everything you need to know about borrowing, lending, deposits, and getting started.
Getting started
How do I create an account?
Click 'Get started', enter your name, email, mobile number and a password, and accept the Terms. We email you a link — confirm it, then sign in. It takes about 2 minutes.
Is RentiGo free to join?
Yes. There's no membership fee. RentiGo is completely free to use — you only pay for individual rentals.
How do I get verified?
Open your profile → Verify identity and upload a clear photo of your Aadhaar, PAN or driving licence (or scan your Aadhaar QR). Our team checks it against your profile name — usually within 24 hours. You can browse while you wait, but listing and requesting items need a verified account. Also add your flat number and area so renters know where to collect.
Which cities is RentiGo available in?
Currently Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Pune, and Mumbai. We're expanding monthly — join the waitlist for other cities.
Borrowing
How do I request an item?
Browse items, select an item, choose your dates and send a request (you'll need a verified account). The owner gets a notification. Once they approve, you have 24 hours to pay them by UPI on the booking page.
What happens if the owner declines?
You'll be notified right away. Since payment is only collected after an owner approves, you were never charged — try another owner with the same item.
Can I cancel a confirmed booking?
If you need to cancel after paying, contact support@renti-go.in with your booking details as soon as possible — we'll coordinate directly with the owner on a fair resolution. See our Refunds & Cancellations policy for details.
What if the item is damaged when I receive it?
Photograph the damage before use and message the owner in-app immediately. Our support team will mediate within 24 hours.
Lending
How do I list my item?
Go to 'My Listings' → 'List new item'. You'll need a verified account and a UPI ID (renters pay you directly to it — it's shown to a renter only after you approve their request). Add a title, category, photos, daily price and deposit. Your listing goes live as soon as you save.
What price should I set?
Check what similar items cost near you — ₹50–₹200/day is typical for most items. We flag obvious mistakes (like ₹5,000/day for a hammer). Because a rental is paid in one UPI payment, a day's price plus the deposit can't exceed ₹1,00,000, and no booking can total more than ₹1,00,000.
Do I have to approve every request?
Yes — every booking needs your approval. You'll get a notification; please answer promptly, because a request expires automatically if its start date passes before you respond.
What if my item is returned damaged?
Inspect the item when it's handed back, before you generate the return code. If something is wrong, choose 'Report damage' and add photos — our team reviews both sides, usually within 24–48 hours. The deposit covers repair or replacement up to its value; you return the rest.
Payments & Deposits
Does RentiGo hold my money?
No. You pay the owner directly by UPI, or in person at pickup. The owner holds any security deposit and returns it to you directly. RentiGo only records each step. See How payments work in the footer for the full explanation.
How does payment work?
Once the owner approves, you either pay the rental fee + deposit straight to the owner's UPI ID on the booking page (scan the QR, tap your UPI app, or copy the UPI ID and amount) and enter the UPI reference number, or choose "I'll pay at pickup" and pay the owner in person, in cash or UPI. Either way the owner confirms in the app. RentiGo never holds the money, and every step is recorded.
When is the deposit refunded?
The owner holds the deposit while you have the item. Once they confirm the item is back, they return it to your UPI ID from the booking page, or hand it back in person, and you confirm when it arrives. If it doesn't arrive, report it there and our team steps in.
My UPI app says "limit exceeded" even for a small amount. Why?
That message comes from your UPI app or bank, not from RentiGo, and it usually isn't about the amount. UPI allows ₹1,00,000 and 20 payments per 24 hours across all UPI apps on the same bank account, a new phone, SIM, UPI PIN or bank account is capped at ₹5,000 for the first 24 hours, some banks cap payments from a saved QR image at ₹2,000, and banks can set lower limits. Check your limit (Google Pay: your bank account → View UPI limit; PhonePe: Profile → your bank account → UPI limit), try another bank account or UPI app, or try again after midnight. If an app simply won't take the payment link, pay by hand instead: copy the UPI ID and amount from the booking page, choose Pay to UPI ID in any UPI app and pay exactly that amount. Then enter the 12-digit UPI reference on the booking page.
Why should I add my UPI QR?
Payment apps trust the QR code they make themselves (it is digitally signed by the app), and they can treat a payment link made by anyone else as coming from an unverified source, which is when they warn, cap or decline it. The payment screen fills in the amount for the payer. If their app declines that, they are offered a fallback, and if you add your own QR the fallback is that exact code, so payments to you still go through. Open your UPI app, choose Show my QR, take a screenshot and upload it on your Profile page under Payment settings. We keep only the link inside the QR, never the picture, and it must be for the UPI ID you saved.
What payment methods are accepted?
Any UPI app — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM and others — or cash or UPI in person at pickup. Either way, payments and deposit returns are confirmed on the booking page.
Are there transaction fees?
No. RentiGo is free to use for now — you pay only the rental fee and the refundable deposit, shown clearly before you pay. If we ever add a fee, it will be shown before you pay and will only apply to future bookings.
