How payments work

Last updated: October 2026 · Operated by Rajendra Anoop, trading as RentiGo

What RentiGo is

RentiGo is a listing and booking platform where people rent items to each other locally. RentiGo is not a bank, payment gateway, payment aggregator or escrow service. It does not collect, hold or transfer rent, deposits or refunds.

Rent

After an owner approves a request, the renter pays the owner directly by UPI, or in person at pickup in cash or UPI. The money goes from the renter to the owner. RentiGo is never in between.

Security deposit

Where an item has a deposit, it is paid to the owner together with the rent and held by the owner, not by RentiGo. After the item is returned in good condition, the owner returns the deposit directly to the renter by UPI or in person.

Records

Each step is recorded on the booking: the payment and its UPI reference, the owner's confirmation, and the deposit return with the renter's confirmation. Both people and RentiGo support can see what happened.

Disputes

If the owner reports damage, RentiGo support reviews the evidence from both sides and mediates. Any money that has to move is paid by the owner directly to the renter.

Fees

Sending a booking request is free, and RentiGo currently charges no fee. If a fee is introduced later, it will be shown before you book, apply only to future bookings, and be paid separately from rent and deposits.

Payment methods and limits

Any UPI app, or cash at pickup. A single UPI payment is limited to ₹1,00,000, so a booking's rent plus deposit cannot be more than that.
